Bamboo Interior Project for a Public Service Environment
A welcoming service-area interior where bamboo elements define circulation, retail display and hospitality zones while complementing indoor greenery and warm architectural lighting.
YONG’AN EXPRESSWAY SERVICE AREA
This project uses a consistent warm bamboo language across key public and commercial areas. In the central circulation space, bamboo railings frame a landscaped feature and help organize pedestrian movement. In the retail and tea display zone, custom cabinetry, counters and tables create an inviting setting for product presentation and customer interaction.
The interior needed to handle frequent public use while maintaining a comfortable, recognizable visual identity. Circulation boundaries, retail display, storage and customer-facing furniture had to work together without making the service area feel overly commercial or visually heavy.
We developed bamboo elements with a coordinated tone and linear design language across the public atrium and retail zone. Railings create clear spatial boundaries around the landscape feature, while fitted display units and tea furniture provide practical merchandising, storage and hospitality functions.
DESIGN LANGUAGE
Three details connect public circulation, indoor landscape and commercial display into one cohesive interior.
Clean vertical members and substantial posts create a clear, warm boundary around the public landscape area while maintaining open sightlines.
Bamboo-toned joinery works naturally with stone, planting and warm lighting, helping the interior landscape feel integrated rather than decorative or isolated.
Wall-mounted display cabinetry, storage bases and a long tasting table create a functional customer zone with a calm, craft-led character.

Public interiors require materials and furniture systems that balance visual warmth with consistent detailing and practical maintenance. Coordinated bamboo surfaces, precise machining and purpose-built joinery allow railings, cabinetry and loose furniture to share a unified architectural character.
